Together, We Can Make a Difference.
Rooted in Our Community.
For more than 25 years, the Laurel Auto Group and the Ann Harris Smith Foundation has remained deeply rooted in our community. With the support of generous sponsors and donors, the foundation works to make a meaningful difference for local families, schools and organizations.
Investing in Early Childhood Education.
Through our commitment to early childhood education, the Ann Harris Smith Foundation provides classroom kits to local kindergarten classrooms. Each kit includes The Color Rap Book, The Color Rap Coloring Book and Classroom Crayola Pack of crayons. Engaging tools designed to support early learning while giving teachers meaningful classroom resources. The Color Rap Book brings creativity and learning together, giving children an engaging way to explore colors while encouraging imagination and participation in the classroom.
Turning Our Towns Teal.
Through the National Turn the Towns Teal© Campaign, each September, our communities come together in recognition of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Teal ribbons line local streets as a visible reminder of the women and families impacted by ovarian cancer.
Supporting Youth Sports.
Local schools and organizations host annual Teal Out games, bringing students, families and community organizations together in powerful displays of support, remembrance and hope. Supporting youth sports is another way we invest in the experiences and opportunities that help young people grow.
Awareness Through Education.
Beyond events, education remains an important part of our community efforts. Sharing information about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer can help women recognize the importance of early detection and advocate for their own health.
Every Effort Matters.
Every ribbon, every classroom kit, every Teal Out game and every conversation keeps the mission moving forward. We are proud to support the people, organizations and initiatives that make our communities stronger.

Ovarian Cancer Awareness
When someone asks, "Why teal?" awareness begins. We believe women of all ages should know the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer and feel empowered to learn more about their health, recognize what is normal behavior for their bodies, and feel confident talking to their doctor if they are experiencing symptoms.
Throughout the year, our mission is to raise awareness by sharing information, encouraging conversations, and supporting the work of the Ann Harris Smith Foundation. Every Tuesday throughout the year, we proudly wear teal as a visible reminder that awareness matters all year long.

The Color Rap Book
Ann Harris Smith had a passion for early childhood education. She spent close to 30 years teaching in several Pennsylvania schools, mostly Kindergarten students. Ann aspired to offer a loving and memorable year for the children and to spark a love of learning in them.
As she often mentioned, “The Kindergarteners enter my classroom as babies in September and leave as confident young children by the end of the year.”
The Color Rap Book was a tool Ann created to bring rhymes together with colorful pictures and song to help children learn their colors. The Smith family along with the help of donors and volunteers allow us to keep her legacy alive. To this day, we have provided multiple schools in Cambria and Somerset counties and beyond with over 9,176 books.

Teal Out Games
Teal Out Games bring our community together for an important cause. Throughout the year, Teal Out Games are held during spring, summer, fall and winter sports at local schools and teams come together to help raise awareness for ovarian cancer and show their support for those affected by it.
The Laurel Auto Group and the Ann Harris Smith Foundation is proud to stand alongside our local athletes, families, schools, and communities. From the stands to the field, we're turning our community teal and using the power of sports to educate our youth and start meaningful conversations.
